Hot Pink Tips/Zebra

I LOVED these! This is another one of those manis that I did almost a year ago so I can't remember the color of the pink. Sorry about that. Wow, my brain just started working again, and I JUST remembered it IS Sinful Colors Creme Pink. Probably part of the reason I suddenly remembered this was because I reorganized all my pink polishes yesterday... which reminds me. I have every polish I own swatched already, so I think I may have "Swatchfest 2012"! Stay tuned...

What I Used:
Base Color:China Glaze-Snow
I THINK The tips are: Sinful Colors-Creme Pink
Glitter on tips: Pure Ice-Spitfire

52 Week Challenge: Newspaper Nails

I've always wanted to do newspaper nails, so when I saw I missed them on the 52 Week Challenge I knew I was going to go back and do them. I wanted to try to do something outside of the traditional newspaper nails, so I did a skittle mani for the base, and also picked pieces out games section of the newspaper. This was definitely much easier than I thought it would be to do, but it did take a little bit of practice.
Note to self: Don't be impatient and take photos in horrible incandescent light again :/

The ring finger is from a "Quote Acrostic" game, and the index is from a "Jumble" game. I liked how it made it a little different from the newspaper manis I've seen countless times.
I use alcohol wipes to transfer the newspaper to the nails. I layered the newspaper over the nail, and then pressed the wipe over that and held it there for about 30 seconds, rubbing it lightly
Something you don't see every day...
My right hand!!! hehe  I thought my index, middle, and ring fingers all came out better on this hand (probably because at that point I had my whole left hand of practice in ha). Ignore the pinkie though, it's dreadful.

What I Used:
Thumb: Confetti Lonesome Dove
Index: China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint
Middle: China Glaze Light as Air
Ring: Sinful Colors Innocent
Pinkie: China Glaze Happy Go Lucky

So Many Polka Dots So Little Time!

I've been thinking about entering Chalkboard Nails' Polka Dot Contest, but I love polka dots so much I can't decide which one to enter. I decided to of course do a nail wheel again to practice and get all my ideas out. Also if you guys want to help me decide which one I should enter that'd be awesome too! ^-^

I broke out my trusty well loved dotting tools and got spotting. This is going to be a super long post with lots of pictures so hold on tight! hah

Sooo many nails...

Now be prepared for each nail described one by one.

1-Base:Sally Hansen Innocent Nude, Tips:Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Presto Pink Dots:China Glaze White on White

4-Base: Hard Candy Beetle (I LOVE this polish, and had totally forgotten about it! It's a great duochrome with hues of copper, gold, green, pink, and yellow), Dots:China Glaze Luxe

5-Base:Wet n' Wild On A Trip, Dots: China Glaze Refresh Mint

6-Base:Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe, Crackle:China Glaze Black Mesh, Tips:Wet N' Wild Ebony Hates Chris, Dots: China Glaze White on White

9-Base:China Glaze Flying Dragon, Dots:China Glaze Purple Pop, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, China Glaze High Hopes, China Glaze Four Leaf Clover

All the dots on this one are from China Glaze 2010 collection Up & Away, I loved all these colors and bough half the collection off Amazon (for probably too much hah), along with my first stamping kit (the original Bundle Monster one). It was pretty much what got me into nail polish, before that all I owned were shades of black and possibly a hot pink. haha Because of that I'll hold a special place in my heart for it ^-^

One more, fun photo for the road ;)

Anyone else have a special polish or collection, or even makeup product that they love a little more than all the others? What did you guys think about all these nails?! Love it, or hate it?

It's never too cold for nautical

There are a lot of times lately that I have been totally at a loss for a ideas and totally uninspired. I tend to look at other nail blogs I like and take inspiration from them. This design is a knockoff of this one , from That's So Fresh's blog. It's another blog I really enjoy, so you should check it out!

52 Week Challange: Corset Nails!

Ok, so I guess maybe you could consider this cheating, but I didn't actually do these on my nails.. I had an interview and couldn't really have crazy nails, and then Mardis Gras.. I did still do them on nail wheels, (and I did a bunch) so I think that counts.
Tada!+funky camera angle.. I'm really enjoying taking pictures of these wheels! ha
Boy were these a major pain! I used nail brushes, striping brushes and dotting tools to do them.

I looked up different corset nails, and decided to try a few different types. I defintely preferd the ones on the left. I used a combination of the 3 new Finger Paints flakie polishes on the three nails on the left, but I can't quite remember what combos I used.
I also used my new Wet n' Wild Megalast in On a Trip for the purple, and I have to say I'm really impressed with the new formulation. It seems to be more opaque, and the brushes are really improved. Also the bottles are much more adorable.
Isn't it perddy? :)

The one on the left wound up being my favorite of the bunch!

A Plaid Pink Wednesday & 52 Week Challenge: Plaid Nails

I apologize in advance for the sad, horrible state of my cuticles. Winter and acetone (and my horrible nervous habit of picking my cuticles) have taken their toll, and they look like crap! I only realized this after I uploaded the photos off my camera, sorry about that :/
I'm trying to catch up for the manis that I missed from the 52 Week Challenge, because I found out about it and came in late.
I actually did these this morning, and they were surprisingly more annoying than I thought they'd be.
The pink in these is surprisingly color accurate
I like how it turned out, but I don't love it.
My hands were shaky, so my lines aren't perfectly straight. My top coat smeared the design. If I do a plaid mani again, I'd use tape to make the bigger stripes.
I like my idea more than anything and from farther away it looks a lot better honestly.
See? hah

The worst cuticle of them all!
Here's a close up of the accent thumb. As soon as I thought of plaid I thought of pink, black and skulls! I'm really upset that this smeared though. I used the Mash m28 plate with the Konad Special Polish in White.

What I Used:
Base Color: Confetti-Lonesome Dove
Pink Stripes: China Glaze- Pink Voltage

Blog Love Therapy's Blog Hop

I've never heard of such a thing, but I'm really intrigued by this idea. Seems like a great way to get your own blog out there, and also discover great new blogs. The more people that know about this the better I'm sure it will be, so spread the word and check it out.

BlogLoveTherapyBlogHop

Also you can apparently submit you blog to be added to their directory of blogs.. hmmm..

It's Mardis Gras! Get out your beads!

First off, I want to say it really makes me sad to lose my 73 followers, but as far as I can tell there is no way to transfer them over after I exported my blog to this address. Pretty much I wanted to consolidate my life a little bit, because I'm going in too many different directions in general, and getting everything in one place was getting overwhelming. -_- Anyway, here's to new beginnings and welcome all my new (and old) followers!

Prefect timing for a celebration too, being Mardi Gras and all! I have to say, my favorite holidays are drinking holidays. No worry about getting everyone the prefect presents, dealing with family, or detailed planning of the day. Only one goal in mind...Have fun(well and generally get drunk hah)! So of course I had to celebrate with a Mardi Gras mani! I've only done gradients once or twice and it shows. :sigh: I'll have to practice. Hopefully you guys get where I was going with this one though!

Ignore my horrible cuticles, I'm trying to fix them..

This took forever!
  • 1 coat Orly-Luxe
  • 1 coat Oke.doke-Goldilocks
  • 3 "gradient coats" (I sponged on the polish) Sinful Colors-Call You Later
  • 1 gradient coat Orly-Here Comes Trouble
  • 2 1/2 coats Finger Paints-Purple Pallette to build up purple glitter

I've also been doing my nail art on nail wheels a lot lately, so I figured I'd include these in here too. Enjoy!

For these guys I used the same polishes as above plus:
  • The glitter is Kleancolor-My Valentine
  • The purple creme is Finger Paints-Pretty as a Portrait
  • The green creme is Ultra Pro-Leaf Me Alone

That's all guys, have a good Mardis Gras, get a DD or eat a lot of amazing, delicious, greasy food if you're not a drinker! :)

    Colorful tips with some crack

So I recently was organizing my computer and came across a whole graveyard of pictures of manis I never posted! I don't want them to go to waste so I'm going to post them now, enjoy the first installment of the series.
This is going to be a challenge to remember all the polishes I used, but I think I can do it.
The tips are a little weird because I did this after a few days of wear.

    What I Used:
    Base Color: China Glaze-Refresh Mint
    Crackle: China Glaze-Cracked Concrete
    Tips: China Glaze-Peachy Keen

    Pink Wednesday-Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!

As I've said before, beside nails and makeup, I also have quite the love of shoes. I think I have well over 100 pairs..which is really bad now when I think about it. Shoes are great though. They make you feel sexy when you're having a bad day. You can go shopping for them and they never make you feel fat. They can really make an outfit. Etc..

To make this shoe mani really special, I added a bling accent nail, which was a major pain in the ass! The thing that really bothered me about this mani was less than 24 hours after I finished the polish just peeled right off! I was beyond pissed!I think the culprit was old Seche Vite that was maybe too thick.
I <333 this mani so damn much! I really have to use that shoe stamp again soon!
This bling accent nail was a major pain! Next time I'm doing it was rhinestones!
To make this blingy accent nail, first I painted the nail silver with Wet n'Wild's Silvivor.  I worked in sections starting from the cuticle. I did a strip of top coat then placed a row or two of sequins on it before it dried. I used a toothpick to pick up the sequins. I also did a gradient of sorts, starting with 2 rows of a transparent opalescent color, then two rows of an opaque opal color and then three of a purple holo color.

I hope that makes sense. Next time I do it I'll try to make a tutorial.

There's some pink in there, so I think it qualifies for  Pink Wednesday :)

    What I Used:
    Base Color:Wet n' Wild Cancun
    Stamping:
    Color: OPI DS Signature
    Plate:BM213

52 Week Challenge:(I hate) Valentines Day

Single or not, I hate the crap out of Valentines day. I'm not super girly, or mushy, or one to like expensive jewelry or roses (ok, maybe some black ones), never been one for PDA, and stuffed animals make me want to puke. Call me cynical or jaded. For me just spending time with the person you love maybe getting some good food is all I need.
So, I did somewhat of an anti-Valentines day mani. Still complete with the classic red color scheme but with a hit of badass.
This was a lot of fun to do! It been a while since I freehanded leopard spots, and the heart & crossbones was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be.
Making that red color was an adventure in layering on it's own!

    • 1 coat Sinful Colors-Under 18
    • 1 coat China Glaze-Riveter Rouge
    • 2 coats Finger Paints- Flashy
I think it was worth it though, because using all those colors and textures gave the color a great depth, in my opinion.
I tried my best to moisturize my cuticles, but Winter can't be stopped.

Also I usually don't wear red, so it was a fun change of pace, that I am really enjoying.

I hope you guys enjoyed it! :)

    V-Day Pedi

    ****Warning:Feet Ahead!******

I can't believe I'm showing you my feet. I hate them. I have a freakishly long second toe, that I can use to pick things up with (I even flicked a lighter and lit someone's cigarette with my feet once...it was a while ago haha). Showing my feet also means showing you a few of my tattoos. So, surprises all around.

I used this tutorial from Copy That, Copy Cat as a starting point for this pedi. I just discovered this blog, and am really loving it, especially the tutorials.

Also for some reason I have no idea how the hell to take pictures of my feet.

    What I used:
    Color: Wet n' Wild-Red Red
    Tips:Sinful Colors-Black on Black
            China Glaze-Silver Lining

Broken Hearted.. Tutorial & Late Pink Wednesday

I'm not personally broke hearted, it's just what I'm calling this tutorial. As soon as I saw this was named "Broken Hearted" this idea popped into my head. I feel silly calling this a tutorial, because it's a little lame, but oh well. I have to work on my "tutorial skills. I also made this tutorial almost a year ago, and just realized I never published it! Finally finishing it now, just in time for Valentines day -_- haha

    Yay for Broken hearts!

Step 1- Paint super glittery base coat. I used Color Club Magic Attraction, because well it's holo and I love it.

Step 2- Top with a coat of China Glaze Crackle Broken Hearted

Step 3- When crackle layer is completely dry, top with heart sticker or even tape cut out in the shape of a heart. The important part of this step is to make sure the sticker/tape is flush with nail.

Step 4- Top with black polish, I used OPI DS Illuminate. Before polish dries, use tweezers to remove sticker.

Enjoy your super adorable broken heart!

As you can see I just did this as an accent nail on my thumb, and painted the rest with OPI DS Illuminate
